I was feeling very melancholy so I wrote a poem. It’s been a while since I wrote poetry so I thought I’d share. One of my tasks on my 101 in 1001 list is also to write a few poems, so I thought I’d give it a go.
I Once Believed
I once believed in fairy tales
Of sparkling lakes with talking whales
And magic, clams, and fish, and snails
But I believe no more
I once believed in queens and kings
And all those royal kinds of things
Songs of princesses I’d sing
But I believe no more
I once believed in leprechauns
Hippogriffs flew and mermaids sung
Phoenixes died and were reborn
But I believe no more
I once was young and I believed
Anything that could be conceived
But now that I’m a bit less naive
I wish I believed once more
I started writing a poem very similar to that a few years ago. Yours is a lot better.
I used to write poetry all the time, I have a whole notebook filled with them! I love this one :)

I still wholeheartedly believe..there are moments I am hurt and wish I *didn’t* believe, but I do…Magic is real…the morning dewdrops and night-time moonbeams tell me so….

I love the photo, and the poem. It really gives me this nostalgic feeling and I sort of feel a look into the past, especially with the mention of naivety.
I really love poetry! My friend challenged herself to write one every day; I think that I might try that but sometimes I might not be able to post every day. :P
