The Hose Snake

Sometimes, inanimate objects seem to have a mind of their own. Where are my keys? They’ve scurried under a pile of papers on the counter! The remote control? It has crawled under the couch cushion.

The other day, Josh was cleaning out his mother’s gutters (because he’s a good son like that). He asked us to turn on the hose for him and when we did, the hose danced and stayed in an upward position on the front lawn. It was as if the hose was saying, “How dare you disturb me, the almighty snake hose!?”

Hose Snake

Have you ever had a random object take on a life of its own?

  1. Haha! It’s alive! AHH. I love it. I think everything has a mind of its own some days. You never know what is going to happen…

  2. Weird. Kinda like Toy Story isn’t it? The toys have feelings.

I think Nature has a conscientiousness, but we aren’t on the same plain of existence to hear or understand it.

  3. Caitlin's MOM

You are too funny, Caitlin! What a GREAT photo! I’m glad the hose didn’t squirt Josh when he was up on the ladder! ~ Miss you! ~ Love, Mom xoxo

  4. I’ve never seen a hose do that – how cool! Great photo!

  5. I LOVE that you got that picture!

  6. That’s AWESOME!

I love when objects have a life of their own.

Yesterday, I went to turn my laptop on to take class notes with, and it did the opposite: NO life!

“HaHA! Try and take notes now!! Give up and go home, sucker.”

So after half the class I did :)

  7. That’s pretty funny. ::P
    It’s a nice photo, though! :D

  8. Ha! That’s funny. I’ve had dishes slowly move across a counter because the counter was wet. Explainable, but still a little eerie. It reminds me of Poltergeist. The steak crawling across the counter.

  9. LOL this used to happen a lot when I first started working at my current job. I’d walk past the hose, and accidental kick it, then the hose would fly around everywhere and wet anything in it’s way. :P AND it was high pressure. AND to turn it off you have to turn the nozzle where the water comes out. Lose lose situation. :(

  10. oh wow that is awesome picture lol :)
I finally got moved :) and you were right sometimes it is worth no matter what you gotta do to move :)

  11. Haha that was always exciting when I was young. I must have wasted so much water wanting to see a hose come to life as a snake :P

  12. Ahaha that’s very funny! I’m sure there is some physics-related explanation to the dancing hose, but let’s not go there and just simply admire the view. :P

    Dance little hose, dance!
