Light It Up Blue (for Autism)

April is Autism Awareness Month.

On the night of April 1, prominent buildings across North America and the world including the Empire State Building in New York City and the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada were lit up blue to raise awareness for autism and to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day today!

And we’re aiming to light the world blue, too – city by city, town by town – by taking action to raise awareness about autism in our communities.

On April 2, wear blue clothing and ask your co-workers, schools and friends to wear blue too.

I’m wearing blue. Are you?

  5. I AM wearing blue…but only because my yellow Happy Friday shirt is dirty.

  6. I did not know about this but I did wear a blue cardigan on the 1st! My students were laughing at me because I always wear black. Thank you so much for the sweet comment on my blog! Teaching is a lot of fun, but tons of work too. I love student teaching, but now I need to work on finding a job in this terrible economy.

Hope you have a great weekend!!

  7. Although I didn’t realize it, I was wearing blue! I have two cousins with autism. Definitely important to get the word out.

    Love the new layout Caity!

  10. I am a huge supporter of autism research and more importantly reducing the amount of kids who go undiagnosed for years. I was a special needs nanny for several years and my specialty was autism spectrum disorders. My kids were smart, funny, and intelligent, and I realized that like me, they just saw the world in a different light than neuro-typical people.

  11. there is still no permament solution for autism. we just have to take good care of the kids who are suffering autism.`:`

  12. there is no permanent cure for autism yet, most autism treatments are experimental:”‘

  13. Have you considered including more videos to the blog articles to help keep the readers extra entertained? I mean I just read over the article of yours and it was quite excellent but as I’m really a visual learner,I discovered that being more useful. Just my my idea, Good luck
