Lolol!!! That was awesome! Your only real accent is on caught I would say. I have NEVER heard of a sun shower!

You’re right we do say things a lot alike! But you have a bit of an accent on words like caught. ;)
I’m so amused by these. Someone else whose blog I followed posted one too, and I went on a bit of a crazy YouTube-ing spree. I couldn’t find anybody who did one for where I live though.
Anyhow, like a few other people have mentioned, I noticed your ‘accent’ when you said both and caught. And anything with an “aw” sound. ;)
Pretty deep northern accent to these Southern ears. :-) I would do something like this myself, but I hate how I look on camera.

For someone who grew up on Long Island, New York, I have to say . . . you don’t have much of a New York accent at all. As others have said – words with the “aw” sound come across a bit “New Yorkie!” Overall, I think you could be a news broadcaster! ~ I, on the other hand, sound like a TOTAL New Yorker! There’s no hiding where I’m from when I open my mouth! ~ Love, Mom xoxo

My boyfriend’s an Upper East Sider, and it totally slips out on words like caught and water! I also think there’s something different about intonations and the way you speak (collective “you” referring to the five boroughs) – can’t quite put my finger on it, but I hear it in his voice all the time and I think I heard it in yours :D
