Showers of Happiness

I went to two bridal showers this weekend! Apparently all my friends are copying me and getting married. Haha. Both of the parties were for friends who I’ve been friends with since high school. I had a very nice time at each of them.

I was really surprised that both places that I went to were really nice about me being vegan. Each of them tried to accommodate my dietary needs. On Saturday, I got a really awesome salad with all kinds of beans and veggies and today the place made me a special pasta dish with vegetables and marinara sauce. It made me really happy.

Here I am with each of the brides-to-be today.

It’s lovely when places try and accommodate your dietary needs, it feels a bit odd when your friends are eating lovely meals and you just get a jacket potato or something. :/

You are your friends look glowing, maybe it’s marriage that can do that to women?

It’s a good thing that both places accommodated your vegan diet! If you were vegan in the 1990′s you’d be hard pressed to even find one restaurant that is vegetarian-friendly!

And wow! Both cakes loooooook so scrumptious!

Nice to know that there are some places where they respect the specific diets of other people than “mock” them. I’m not Vegan, I don’t eat vegetables to begin with. Haha. But I admire you for your personal choice of diet :)

The cake looks gorgeous. Congratulations to your friends! :)

It’s really sweet of them to accommodate your diet. Not everyone will be willing or even remember to do that. Great friends you have. May your friends have a blissful wedding!

It’s great that they were so accommodating to your dietary requests – it’s so frustrating when a place won’t, no matter whether it’s just a preference, or an allergy, or what.
Congratulations to your friends! Must be very exciting for them both.

I think being vegetarian/vegan is becoming more common these days and places seem to be getting used to it. Probably especially along the west coast and east coast since we’re more diverse and liberal :)
I’m not crazy about meat, so I’m always happy when there’s veggie options. Though my tofu on Saturday was absolutely terrible :(
