Today you get to meet Joey! Joey is one of the animals that lives with us in our flat. He belongs to one of the other girls who lives here but he comes to visit me and Josh quite often. Joey is probably the friendliest cat I have ever met. He jumps up into my lap while I’m at the computer and just curls up and starts purring. Maybe Joey knows that I miss my cat and he’s trying to help me fill my cat void.
Joey also likes to sit on my windowsill, which is right next to my computer, and look out the window. Sometimes he even jumps out of the window if he sees something exciting! He is such a good cat.
Moko would be really jealous, I think. Maybe it’s better if I don’t tell Moko about Joey. Moko wanted to come with us but she didn’t fit in my suitcase, see? She sat on top of it for a few days before we left and it made me really sad because I really wish I could have taken her with us. Josh and I are hoping that Moko will come join us in New Zealand soon, though. My parents are planning a trip here and so is one of my good friends so I’m sure one of those times Moko can come along. I miss my Mokie.
Joey looks cute, maybe he senses that you miss your Moko and wants to comfort you. I swear cats have that sense, if you need a cuddle they come running. Kitty cuddles are the best. Hopefully you get your kitty to come live with you soon.
Awe, I love sweet cats! Are you any closer to being able to get Moki to New Zealand? I miss Gunny after just a few days away, I can’t imagine being away from her for as long as you’ve been away from Moki :(

They are both adorable! I hope you’re reunited with Moko soon. One of these days, I’m going to get my own cat so I can stop being tortured by pictures of other people’s cute cats. :P
Aw! I was always so sad when you mentioned you’d have to (temporarily) leave Moko behind. It’s nice that Joey has found you and has helped fill the kitty void.
Awww. I’m sad that you miss your cat. It’s nice that you have a friendly cat around to keep you company though. He’s a gorgeous cat.
I have to say you had a lot of courage to leave behind Moko. True, she’ll be with you eventually but I don’t think I could do that with my kitties, lol.

Ah yes, i hear its really hard to get a pet into NZ, actually. And Joey sounds like a darl! Just like my cat! Our cat would take turns on everyone’s lap on the couch in the living room when we’re watching tv, haha.
Yeah, it’s pretty difficult. There is no rabies in New Zealand so I’d want to double check and make it pretty difficult too if I were New Zealand. :)

Argh! Every time I read such posts I’d want my own familiar… but I don’t have time to take care of one. Literally, I mean I work from 9 – 18, and you add an extra hour for commute. Not to mention holidays abroad…

Joey’s so adorable <3 I will admit, when I first saw the title of this blog entry, I thought it was going to be of baby kangaroos!
I hope Moko gets to join you soon! I read above that you had a comment about needing to check for things like rabies. How long is the quarantine period in New Zealand? Or do you just need a clean bill of health verified by a vet?

Joey is such an adorable cat! He makes me miss my cat which we had to leave at my mom’s since that was the only place he knew. I swear, one day I’m going to kidnap him and bring him over here but my little brother and mom would be heartbroken! So I definitely can relate to you missing Moko! It’s hard to live without your furbabies. I can even see mine every time I go to my mom’s but that is still not the same as having him here with us. My hubby got me a kitten to feel the cat gap in my heart but it is not the same. I hope Moko gets to come to NZ soon!

I think it’s wonderful that Joey is visiting you. Perhaps, like you said, he knows you’re missing your own cat. Maybe there’s a “sense” with cats…so that they know when people need them at a particular time.
The other thing is that I betcha Joey knows that you’re a cat person. I think cats know the people who “get” them and those who don’t. Like the rest of us, they like hanging out with the cat-friendly people:~)
