Garden Ramble

Today I was invited to go on a Garden Ramble! It was a fundraiser for a local Church here in town and with your ticket you went around viewing homeowner’s gardens. The gardens that were selected to be part of the Garden Ramble were absolutely gorgeous. There were seven gardens in total located all over town. They were all very different and had so many different kinds of flowers, trees, and plants. I had a very good time wandering around town and seeing such beautiful yards and gardens.

Secret Garden

This was one of my favourite gardens. It reminded me of something from a storybook like The Secret Garden. I just felt like it was so magical and if I weren’t allergic to flowers I would have probably gotten a lot closer and rolled around in a lot of these magical flowers… or something!

Random Cat

And perhaps my favourite thing I found growing in all of the gardens… a rare catbush growing in the far corner of one of the gardens.

Do you know anyone who loves to garden?

  1. Ahhh, the rare catbush, you’re so lucky to have seen one! :) Beautiful gardens!

  2. I don’t garden myself, but I love gardens! I miss the one by where I use to live…I didn’t go there nearly enough (lazy person that I am, it was only a 10 minutes walk away). They had ducks, and herons and the occasional turtle. And a few cool trees like the one you captured. I love the cat pic! I stopped once to take a picture of a random cat, then felt weird that I was photography someone elses cat, need to get over my photography self consciousness!

  3. Those gardens look lovely! And LOL at the catbush…my next door neighbour seems to have one of those growing in his yard too. ;)

I’m really not much of a gardener myself though – but I do like looking at them. Does that count? :P

  4. Do I know anyone who loves to garden? YES, I know myself. :D Problem is that I don’t have garden. :(

That garden looks really beautiful and I’d definitely would like to have a cat and catmint in my garden. :P We actually talked with my boyfriend that we need a cat that love catmint because apparently it doesn’t affect in all cats. :P

  5. Looks like a fun day at the garden! :D In the concrete jungle of Jakarta, a lush green garden is like a far away dream.

  6. I love gardens! They are so peaceful and pretty. :D It’s a shame you’re allergic to flowers though, I can’t get enough of macro shots of flowers.

My mum loves gardening but since she got a full time job about a year ago, she’s not had much time to tend to the plants. I can’t really do much with gardening but I do take photos and document our garden in photos as the year progresses. ;)

  7. Caitlin's MOM

Hi, Caitlin! So happy to see you blogging again! I missed looking at your lovely photographs! The garden is beautiful. I’m glad you had such a nice day. Lots of Love, Mom

  8. Ha, catbush! I’d love to attend a fundraiser like that, but I haven’t heard of anything even remotely similar around here, even in the spring or summer. Gardens rule.

  9. The garden is gorgeous, and that cat is so cute. It looks so content. haha

  10. awww i love the pictures! my mom is a garden person, she can shit on the ground and a rose bush grows out of it.

    i want a catbush :]

  11. I love pretty gardens, although don’t like the chore of maintaining my own (lazy I know!). My parents on the other hand are keen gardeners.

  12. Oh gosh, I went away to No Internet Land for 5 days and I come back to you BLOGGING AGAIN! I am so happy. And I am also happy you’re taking pictures.

I like gardening, but we’re so transient right now that there’s no point. I found it weird this summer seeing flowers I didn’t recognize around London. Many were the same, but many more weren’t.

  13. WHere I am from in the states (Nashua, NH) they do something similar, at Christmas, it is called the Holiday House Tour and you visit people’s home all decorated up for the Holidays, it such fun and beautiful to see and a fundraiser too. What a great idea to do the gardens too… Glad you are finding fun things to do and help you settle more, being involved in community activities makes a big difference. Thanks for sharing !!

  14. My father-in-law displays his garden for an event like that in his village. It’s very cool. :D
