An update for Mom.
My mother reads my blog. Every once in a while, as with all things in life, mothers let us know what they think of things. I’ve come to realize that this is not always a bad thing and this is why my mother has access to my blog. Plus, sometimes it makes for a quite the humorous conversation – especially when it has to do with things online.
Yesterday, my mother informed me that I had not made a blog post in 3 days and that my blog had become boring. It was rather funny hearing that from my mother whose internet abilities consist of emailing her friends, sending out forwards, and clicking the link I’ve created for her in the bookmarks bar to find my blog.
She also informed me that my Wordless Wednesday posts are also boring! This made me very sad because I love taking pictures and I think that Wordless Wednesdays are fun. It’s like having a mini photoblog without actually having a photoblog! It’s my weekly photoblog! I guess my mom likes to read about my life instead. I can understand that… she being my mother and all. Now that I’ve moved out she probably misses me.
My mother also told me that my grammar was incorrect on my last post. She said, “It’s not ‘I sunk your battleship!’ It’s ‘I sank your battleship!’” Being the stubborn person that I am, I was determined to prove that although it might be grammatically correct, it was not the most common saying in the battleship world! Google helped me out.

Yes, Google. That’s what I meant.

Ahhhhh! I hope you aren’t too downed by what your mother said; I am very sure that she just misses you too.
It is a bit odd that you haven’t blogged in three days; I’ve known you to be a regular blogger, Caity!
As for me, a blog every two days (if you’re lucky, two days in a row!) is the norm (okay, three days, if I am feeling lazy or bummed out). And I think a lot of my visitors are used to that.
Wordless Wednesdays are just one day a week… your mum can live! ;D I love having a separate photoblog though – I guess that just goes with me and my domain addiction. :3
I think that’s actually really sweet that your mother reads your blog and talks to about it, even if she doesn’t like the Wordless Wednesdays and so forth (personally I enjoy them and think a lot of others probably do, but like you said, I guess your mum would rather read about your life!). Don’t be disheartened by what she said though – I’m sure I’m speaking not only for myself, but the majority of your other visitors too, when I say I disagree with her! :P
How nice of you to blog for your mum. I don’t think your blog is boring at all! If any blog is boring, it’s mine haha. I’m hoping to change that though.
I wouldn’t know if it’s sunk or sank without looking into it, but just remember that even though google suggests it doesn’t make it right ;)
my mom reads my blog, but she rarely makes comments about my posts. I think she enjoys quietly stalking me instead.
I think it’s cool that your mom reads your blog. My parents read my blog too, and Mom even comments on occasion. It gives you a different perspective, because your parents may not be the demographic that you usually target, so you get to see how the less represented think of your work. They’re also guaranteed visitors :)
That’s neat that your mom reads your blog. I’m not sure mine would, just because she probably wouldn’t find it very interesting!
So I’ve read this post outloud so that D can hear it, and we’re both laughing so hard right now.
I like your Wednesday posts, and in the end, it’s your blog, you can write whatever you like, right?
That being said, the stuff about the sank/sunk is hilarious!
LOL. That is beyond cute. I love that you’re able to have those types of conversations with your mother, lol. And now you can tell her you were right. ;)
That’s so cute, lol. Your mom sounds like a very lovely woman.
My mom also reads my blog! Hi, Caitlin’s mom!
I enjoy your wordless wednesday, and I hope you’ll keep them up anyways :)
LOL! It’s always nice to prove parents wrong. Don’t know if I would allow my mom to read my blog though!
P.S. Wordless Wednesdays rock!
Oh my god — your Google shot made me laugh.
Hi Caity’s Mom!!
Does she read the comments too?
Your blog is so NOT boring to me, never has been and I can’t imagine it ever being.
I have to admit tho, I was with her on the sank over sunk, until the Google shot — proving again, I learn something EVERY day!!
xoxo
That’s funny
Aww, I love wordless Wednesdays. Keep them!! :) I love that you and your Mom got into a debate about that phrase… so cute!
I love that your mother reads your blog and that you’re actually comfortable with her doing so. :) It’s a great way for her to be a part of your adult life. She sounds like a great woman, btw. And Caity’s mom, if you’re reading this — hello! :)
Loved the google search, by the way, hehe.
That’s awesome that your mom knows/reads your blog :), and that you were able to prove her wrong ;)
I was wondering why you weren’t blogging!
Ouch! Leave it to a mom to tell you like it is. Although I wouldn’t listen to her — even though I’ve only been reading your blog for a little while, I can tell you it’s not as boring as she think it is.
Also, hooray for grammar! Thank you for that.
Hi, Caitlin!
This is my first attempt to actually leave a reply, and you know how “low-tech” I am, so please bear with me! I hope this goes through!
Anyway, I didn’t mean that I thought your BLOGS were boring . . . I meant that it was boring when you didn’t write a blog for me to read!!! I miss reading them each day!
Wordless Wednesdays are fine! I was just teasing! I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings. I didn’t mean to do that!
Thanks for blogging JUST FOR ME! It made me feel special. AND, for the record . . . I DO MISS YOU! But I’m working on it. When I go by your area of the house, I keep thinking that you still live here! WEIRD, huh?
Anyway, you showed me! . . . (I SUNK your battleship!) LOL No more grammar lessons from me!
I love you! Say, “Hello,” to Josh!
Lots of Love,
Mom xoxo
The google shot made me laugh too. I totally say I sunk your battleship!
LOL oh, the sweet feelings of validation that only Google can bring, haha.
This totally made my day.
Caity,
I love your sense of humor!!! But I bet your mom will keep commenting because she likes your humor too, and she got you to post:) Yay for Google:)
For the record, I like your Wordless Wednesdays! It’s nice to look at a pretty picture every now and then, and it still tells a little something about your life. :)
I tell my mother practically everything, but she doesn’t know I have a blog. If I told her, she would probably worry that some crazy internet stalker would find my site and track me down somehow. :P I think it’s great that your mom reads your blog and you can talk about it with each other. That must be really cool.
Hi, Caity’s Mom! *waves* :D
LMAO That is so awesome! My mom knows of my blog, but she’s never actually visited it, which is just as well. I talk to her on almost a daily basis and see her at least once or twice a week. She’s up to date, to the point she wouldn’t need to read my blog.
OMG Google so totally pwned your mom! Have you told her yet?
I’d die if my family read my blog… even if I rarely write anything about them! o.O
I disagree with your mom, though. I don’t think Caity.nu has ever been boring, even with “just” photo posts, but I suppose her being your mom means she wants to READ about your life and she probably misses you a lot. :)
…I think it’s “I sank your battleship.” *flees*
Hi, CaityMom!
Your mom is so cute!
I love your Wordless Wednesday posts – you have awesome photos to share!
I’m hopeless with past tense irregulars in English…much better in Spanish.
And “sank” still came up with almost 2 million hits, so who knows.
I thought your mom was the one who liked seeing your photos on your blog ;) But nonetheless, hi Caity’s mom :D Try not to be so hard on your daughter for the sank/sunk – blame pop culture for their influences on her instead!
Ha ha! I thought I was the only one who got sass from their mom about their blog. Only my mom doesn’t call it a blog. She says things like “Your booboo magoo needs to be updated.” I pretty much started it for her (and other family) to keep track of what I’m up to while I’m abroad!
I think it is sweet your mom comes by your site :) I like wordless Wednesday myself.even though i haven’t done one yet, i might today!! my mom has however learned how to do her own wordpress site and use flickr. and oh yes. html and some coding /graphics things.oyy.lol
Great that your mom reads your blog, wish mine did more often… she only reads it if I send her a specific link to something I think she may be interested in reading. I think she sees blogging as something narcissistic; she is of the “it’s alright to journal, but why post it out all over the world, really think anyone cares?” mind set…
I think it’s awesome that your mom reads your blog; I think I would be scared if my mom read mine. I’m more honest in my blog than I’m to my mom; I also admit things to the online world that I wouldn’t admit to my mom. It’s like my private diary from her but a public diary for the world.
I think Wordless Wednesdays is an amazing concept and it’s fun seeing how your photograph continues to impress me.
