I'm Caity, a 25 year old living in New York with my husband, Josh. I'm a math teacher, amateur photographer, gamer, dreamer, blogger, singer, self-proclaimed dork, and wannabe kiwi. I sparkle!
Last night, Josh and I went out to eat at Tula Kitchen. It’s a place near our apartment that offers vegan options right on their menu and it’s completely awesome. Josh and I haven’t dined out in such a long time and it was so nice to finally do it again. It’s such a good feeling to go out and to show ourselves off. Maybe it sounds silly, but I think we’re a cute couple and I like to go out with Josh because I’m proud to be seen with him. Okay, I know. Enough with the cutesy romance stuff, right? I just can’t help myself sometimes.
So, the food? It was awesome. I got Tofu Veggie Crab Cakes with carrots and mashed sweet potatoes and dairy free tartar sauce. I can’t believe how amazing it tasted. We also got a super amazing appetizer of beans and pita bread that Josh and I definitely want to try and recreate because it was one of the most awesome things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Seriously.

Speaking of vegan food, you’re going to be hearing a lot more about it next month. It’s time for the Vegan Month of Food, or Vegan MoFo! I decided to participate this year in the third annual Vegan Month of Food, which is basically a similar idea of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) where you blog every day for the month, however you blog each day about being vegan, or vegan foods! This should be a fun two months. October being Vegan MoFo and then November being NaBloPoMo, which I also plan to participate in.

LOL! I saw you wrote Vegan MoFo and was very confused as to why you’d use choice words. Hahah. I’m excited! Food and recipes in any form help me out.
Whoohooo for date nights! I must say I’m not vegan bu the food looks and sounds delish!
that looks like a very yummy meal!
Aww, I know what you mean! I love going out with Chris — I think we make a cute couple as well. :P I love to flaunt him, haha.
That dish looks yummy! And so healthy. Ugh, I feel so guilty. My diet is horrible lately — I just got back from eating at a pizza buffet and I am hurting so bad from stuffing myself yet I keep going back. :| You and your healthy meals inspire me! I am really going to try harder to eat better this time around.
That looks delicious :D
Also don’t forget that November is also NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), the original [insert activity here]-Month :D
Sounds yummy even though I dislike crab.
Can’t wait to see see your posts for those two events :)
I didn’t think MoFo meant quite… that. :P But then again I’m a pottymouth!
Enjoy being a part of a cute couple, people actually ask me why I hang out with a gorilla. Seriously. Jani even picks his nose in public so… be proud of your presentable SO. XD
Aw you two are so cute :) yum yum about the food
Whoa. Now, I’ll admit; I’m one very carnivorous, meat-loving lady. 8)
But that food still looks (and sounds, as you so generously described) *delicious*. I always enjoy these photos of FOOD you put up in your blog!!! LOL, problem is, I always leave feeling hungrier than before. hahaha =))
Your blogs always make me hungry :P
I’m looking forward to your VeganMoFo posts :) I’m not a vegan, but vegan food has always fascinated me – and it’s yummy too!
That actually looks very delicious. I suppose I should try some vegan food one day. I know that I do need to change my diet so that I may be healthier & happier in the long run.
Ooh, the food looks nice. You and Josh sound so sweet. Hope you had a good night!! And good luck with the vegan blogging thing!!

I love vegan food, actually. I couldn't get enough of it as a vegetarian and I still love it now that I eat meat. There are a lot of vegan and neo-vegan restaurants around here and I'm always so impressed with how creative they are when it comes to substitutions to make things taste like the original, but even better, with a few added spices.
Bring on the Vegan Mofo– can't wait!

Glad to hear that you had a good time:) I love eating in restaurants as well:)
Enjoy your life with good food. You go girl, flaunt everything you have, that is what it is there for. Isn’t it great to have such amazing vegan food. Thanks for the links, you sparkle.

I’m glad you are able to find so many vegan choices when you go out to eat. And I can’t wait for Novemeber…I’m gearing up for NaBloPoMo!
